Byrne is an Executive Managing Director with Newmark’s Capital Markets Group in Boston. He specializes in Multifamily investment and development sales and is a leader in Newmark’s Strategic Campus Advisory Practice Group.
Throughout the course of his 20-year career, Byrne has been directly involved in more than $14.0 billion of major multifamily, mixed-use, development and campus real estate transactions. His specialty areas include assignments ranging from structuring public-private partnerships on long-term ground leases to monetization of surplus real estate on behalf of public, quasi-public and private owners alike.
Prior to joining Newmark, Byrne served as an executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, vice president at CBRE and began his real estate career as an advisor at Byrne, McKinney & Associates in Boston.
Those who are not familiar with P3, such projects are long-term contracts that allow the public and private sector to participate in the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a project, now widely used in the academic sector, including student housing, across New England.
Although P3 has been increasingly playing an important role in projects ranging from public infrastructure to airports and healthcare, the 2025 P3 symposium will focus on academic and student housing facilities, providing insights into partnership trends and sectors to watch in 2025 and beyond.
