HARVARD, MA— Maugel DeStefano Architects, an award-winning architectural firm that shapes exceptional designs for healthcare, multifamily, labs, biotech, industrial, corporate real estate, and custom residential homes across the Northeastern United States, today announced that it has been named Architectural Firm of the Year for 2023 by Boston Real Estate Times.
Boston Real Estate Times, New England’s largest commercial real estate digital and multimedia magazine, will honor Maugel DeStefano Architects at its Annual Excellence Awards Gala on Sept. 13 at Burlington Marriott in Burlington, MA.

In 2018, Maugel DeStefano celebrated the firm’s 25th anniversary and set a course for sustained long-term growth by naming Daniel Barton, Jonathan Cocker, Mike Kunz, and Mark Pelletier as principals alongside Founder Brent Maugel. In 2019, Maugel Architects acquired DeStefano Architects of Portsmouth, NH, naming Founder Lisa DeStefano a principal of the combined firm. The acquisition accelerated the firm’s growth trajectory
by immediately expanding its market position and geographical reach throughout New England. In October of 2022, Cocker, Kunz and Pelletier became equal majority shareholders of Maugel DeStefano Architects, and Brent Maugel transitioned to Principal
Emeritus in January of 2023.
