BOSTON- Marcus Partners, a real estate investment, management and development firm, announced that Ali Bernard has joined the company as Principal, Co-CFO.
Current CFO David Hooke, who has been with the team since 1993, will transition to a Senior Advisor role in early 2022, at which time Bernard will become sole CFO. In their work as Co-CFOs, Bernard and Hooke will together lead the company’s accounting, human resources, and financing efforts along with supporting the teams focused on investor relations, due diligence, acquisition, financings and sales.

His upcoming work as Senior Advisor will allow him to continue offering vital strategic perspective and experience over the years ahead.”
Bernard brings a diverse perspective from her varied roles at Easterly Government Properties (NYSE:DEA), and as Chief Financial Officer for Easterly Capital, LLC and Easterly Partners, LLC. During her time at Easterly Partners, LLC, Bernard guided the firm through the growth of two private equity funds and the firm’s initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. Earlier in her career, Bernard worked at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Summit Partners. She holds a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross, an M.S. in Accounting from Boston College, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
In addition to the five senior-most leaders of Marcus’ Principal team (Paul Marcus, David Hooke, David Fiore, Bill McAvoy, and John Busby), Marcus’ leadership now includes six younger principals who bring critical skills and broad strategic thinking to the firm. Together, they average 38 years in age and bring an average of 16 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. This team includes Ali Bernard along with principals Patrick Sousa, Ryan McDonough, Levi Reilly, Andrew Dolinsky and Peter Cameron.
