BOSTON–Nitsch Engineering announced that, effective January 1, 2025, Jennifer Johnson, PE, CFM, LEED AP has been named President and CEO of the company. As she moves up from her prior role as Executive Vice President, Johnson will build upon the strategic leadership and long-term vision she has consistently shown as a member of Nitsch’s Executive Team to position the company for the future.
Johnson succeeds Lisa Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, who served as President and CEO since 2011. Brothers will now serve as Principal and Chair of the Board.

A proven strategic leader, Johnson has worked at Nitsch since 2010. She most recently served as Executive Vice President, engaged in all corporate responsibilities including business operations, people and culture, and financial performance, as well as leading the creation and implementation of a new strategic plan. Prior roles included Director of Resilience Planning & Design, Project Manager, and Project Engineer focusing on sustainable stormwater and resilience planning, design, and implementation. Johnson has been a shareholder since 2017 and has served on the Nitsch Board of Directors since 2020.

Johnson has 20 years of engineering experience. She holds a B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program. She is actively involved in a number of professional societies dedicated to the environment, including the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC/NE), the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA), and the Water Environment Federation (WEF).
