BOSTON–Interior Architects (IA) announced the completion of Wayfair’s first retail brick-and-mortar store at the Natick Mall in Natick, MA as well as the renovation of its headquarters in Boston.
As described in a recent Fast Company article, the store is “yet another example that brick-and-mortar retail is far from dead. It’s just undergoing a transformation. In today’s world, physical needs to complement the online shopping experience, and this appears to be what Wayfair had in mind when it built out this store.”
At the existing headquarters, IA engaged with Wayfair on its master plan expansion and year-long, phased renovation, featured in OfficeLovin’. Residential themed floors and wayfinding align with the company’s “A Zillion Things Home” brand driver and create a home-away-from-home for Wayfair’s hundreds of employees.
“What an amazing pleasure it has been to partner with Wayfair on all the fantastic things they are doing. The project team of IA, WB, Columbia, Redgate, and of course, Wayfair were motivated by principles of associate/customer experiences, speed to market, and a zillion things home,” said Reetika Vijay, IA Managing Principal. “Innovating their workplace and retail experiences has enabled us to create environments that both utilize and celebrate Wayfair’s vast product lines. IA is so proud to have been a part of these two very significant projects.”
