BOSTON— Hasbro, Inc., the powerhouse behind some of the world’s most beloved toys and games, is entering a bold new chapter as it announces the relocation of its global headquarters from Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Boston’s Seaport District.
The move marks a significant milestone in Hasbro’s long-term “Playing to Win” strategy, designed to accelerate innovation, attract top talent, and strengthen partnerships across the entertainment and toy industries.
The company’s new home will be at 400 Summer Street, a modern office space developed by WS Development. Spanning seven floors and 265,000 square feet, the space will house more than 700 full-time employees, who are expected to transition to Boston by the end of 2026.
“Boston’s thriving business community, deep academic partnerships, and cultural vibrancy give Hasbro an unparalleled foundation for growth,” said Chris Cocks, CEO of Hasbro. “Together with our Seattle team’s leadership in technology and innovation, these hubs will fuel the next chapter of Hasbro.”
Massachusetts Leaders Welcome Hasbro
Massachusetts leaders hailed the announcement as a major win for the state’s innovation economy.
“We are thrilled that Hasbro has chosen Massachusetts as the home of its new headquarters,” said Governor Maura Healey. “We’re proud to welcome this iconic company to Team Massachusetts—where we are number one in education, health care, and innovation.”
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu added, “The creativity and wonder at the heart of Hasbro’s work align with our mission to make Boston a home for everyone. We look forward to supporting Hasbro’s transition and partnership with the city.”
Rooted in Rhode Island, Growing Globally
Despite the move, Hasbro emphasized that its Rhode Island roots remain deep. In 2024 alone, the company donated over $1 million in products and services to Rhode Island-based organizations, including Hasbro Children’s Hospital and Special Olympics Rhode Island. Annual donations and local recruiting efforts will continue, honoring the legacy of the company’s founding Hassenfeld family.
Hasbro has called Rhode Island home for more than 100 years, growing from a small family business into a global entertainment leader.
A Bi-Coastal Innovation Strategy
The Boston headquarters will serve as the central hub for Hasbro’s toys, board games, licensing, and most corporate services, while its Renton, WA office will remain the headquarters for Gaming and Digital. The West Coast location, home to franchises like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, currently houses over 500 employees across three floors overlooking Lake Washington.
Together, these East and West Coast hubs will anchor Hasbro’s next wave of growth, blending physical play with digital innovation.
Global Reach, Local Impact
In addition to its U.S. offices, Hasbro maintains a global presence with operations in London, Hong Kong, Montreal, and Mexico City, and manufacturing sites across the world. Each location plays a key role in delivering Hasbro’s portfolio of brands to fans and families everywhere.
