BOSTON– Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), a global leader in building and operating innovation communities, announced the appointment of Dawn Neher as its Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Neher oversees all capital raising and finance functions of the company.
CIC currently operates innovation campuses across the U.S. in Boston, Cambridge, Miami, Philadelphia, and St. Louis, and internationally in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Additional CIC campuses are in development in Providence, Warsaw, and Tokyo, with several other locations in planning phases.
With CIC’s rapid growth, Neher is responsible for accessing, deploying, and structuring capital to expand CIC.
Neher comes to CIC with nearly 30 years of real estate finance experience, including 24 years with New England Development (NED), a nationally respected developer behind many successful large-scale, mixed-use projects. During her tenure as CFO at NED, Dawn structured the financing for dozens of large real estate projects and guided the company’s investment decisions.
As a guide and mentor to women in business, Neher has served on the Board of The Boston Club, a group of leading female executives in Massachusetts, and is a long-term member of Corporate Real Estate Women (formerly NEWIRE) of New England. Furthermore, she is a member of several other real estate organizations including the Pension Real Estate Association. Neher also guest lectures at the MIT Center for Real Estate and advises startups on their financial affairs.
“We are extremely pleased to have recruited a fantastic candidate like Dawn with an exceptional background and broad experience that feels tailor-made for CIC,” stated CIC Founder and CEO Tim Rowe. “Dawn’s extensive experience in the real estate industry coupled with her strong work ethic, focus, and creativity will be a valuable asset to CIC as we continue to seek opportunities to fuel our ongoing growth. We welcome Dawn as a critical member of our senior leadership team.”
“I am privileged to have the opportunity to join CIC as CFO,” said Neher. “I look forward to this exciting time as CIC leads the development and expansion of innovation communities both nationally and worldwide.”
