CAMBRIDGE, MA – Colliers announced the facilitation of the sale of the Cambridge Matignon School campus to Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School. The 83,136 square foot property in Cambridge, Massachusetts stretches across 7.8 acres of land.
A Colliers team led by Vice Chair James Elcock and Vice President John Real represented the sellers, the Archdiocese of Boston, in the transaction.
The sale of the Cambridge Matignon School campus marks the transition for the long-standing institution, known for its educational excellence and commitment to the local community. Matignon High School was especially renowned for its exceptional hockey program, winning 10 state championships and producing many collegiate and NHL players. Former students Steve Leach and Shawn McEachern played for their hometown Boston Bruins and won a Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992.
Located at 1 Matignon Road in Cambridge, the 7-acre land includes playing fields, science labs, an auditorium, and a gymnasium. The two former buildings, Matignon High School and the Administrative Building, both constructed in 1945, were previously leased and have now been sold.

Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School, founded in 2012, is a public charter school in Cambridge, Massachusetts, serving students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The school is committed to fostering a culture of high-order thinking and promoting excellence among both staff and students, while maintaining a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
