BURLINGTON, Mass. — The Erland Charitable Foundation is celebrating a decade of service and community engagement, marking 10 years of charitable giving, volunteerism, and partnership across Greater Boston and surrounding communities.
Founded in 2016 by employees of Erland Construction, the Foundation emerged from the company’s involvement in the New England Center for Children (NECC) Autism Institute project. Inspired by the challenges faced by NECC students and their families, Erland employees established the Foundation to channel the company’s resources and collective effort toward making a lasting difference beyond the jobsite.
Over the past decade, the Erland Charitable Foundation has raised more than $300,000 in support of organizations focused on education, youth development, basic needs, and community well-being. Beneficiaries include the New England Center for Children, the Billerica Scholarship Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, the Burlington Community Scholarship Foundation, People Helping People, Wee Care Burlington, and numerous other local nonprofits serving individuals and families throughout the region.
“What an exciting time,” said Steve Craft, president of the Erland Charitable Foundation. “Celebrating 10 years of service is an incredible accomplishment, made possible by countless people who believe in giving back. I’m grateful for how far we’ve come and look forward to seeing what the Foundation can achieve in the next decade.”
In addition to financial contributions, the Foundation has fostered strong connections through fundraising events, volunteer initiatives, and community drives that bring together Erland employees, trade partners, nonprofit organizations, and community members.
“We are deeply grateful for the Erland Foundation’s unwavering support over the years,” said Donna Russo, founder and director of Wee Care Burlington. “Their commitment has made a tremendous difference for the families we serve, and we truly value the partnership we’ve built together.”
As it marks its 10-year milestone, the Foundation also recognizes the role of Erland’s employee-owners, trade partners, and nonprofit collaborators whose ongoing support has fueled its success.
“The Erland Charitable Foundation represents the very best of who we are as an employee-owned company,” said Sean McDonald, president of Erland Construction. “Our people have always believed that building stronger communities goes hand-in-hand with building great projects. Reaching the 10-year milestone is a testament to their generosity, compassion, and commitment to making a difference.”
Looking ahead, the Erland Charitable Foundation plans to build on its momentum by expanding partnerships, deepening its community impact, and continuing to honor the spirit of service that has defined its mission since its founding.
