DiPrete Engineering Announces Key Promotions, Strengthening Leadership Team Across New England

CRANSTON, RIDiPrete Engineering has announced a series of leadership promotions, elevating three team members in recognition of their technical expertise, leadership, and contributions to the firm’s continued growth.

The firm promoted Louis Barone III, P.E., to Project Manager, while Matthew Insana, PLS, and Jonathan W. Sheppard were selected to join the company’s Executive Leadership Program.

Barone, who joined DiPrete in 2021 as a Project Engineer, has played a key role in managing residential and commercial development projects while guiding clients through complex regulatory and permitting processes. With degrees in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Rhode Island, he has also contributed to staff mentoring, public engagement, and internal initiatives, including leading the firm’s networking efforts. Company leadership noted that his promotion reflects both his current impact and future leadership potential.

Insana brings more than two decades of experience in surveying and land development support, having joined the firm in 2004. As a Senior Survey Project Manager, he has overseen complex survey operations and supported major commercial and mixed-use developments across the region. A graduate of the University of Hartford, with additional certification from the University of Florida, Insana has been recognized for his ability to manage teams, coordinate fieldwork, and deliver precise data critical to project success. His advancement into the Executive Leadership Program highlights his long-standing commitment to quality and mentorship.

Sheppard, who joined DiPrete in 2021 after earning his civil engineering degree from the University of Rhode Island, has demonstrated strong technical and leadership capabilities early in his career. His work spans site planning, stormwater management, permitting, and construction support for both public and private sector projects. In addition to his engineering responsibilities, he has led internal initiatives such as onboarding new staff and improving CAD systems, helping to strengthen operational efficiency across the firm.

Company principals emphasized that all three individuals exemplify DiPrete’s core values through their leadership, collaboration, and dedication to excellence. Their promotions come as the firm continues to expand its presence and capabilities across New England.
