BOSTON—Cresa, a commercial real estate advisory firm specializing in tenant representation, has renewed its sponsorship of PGA Tour professional Brendan Steele, Champions Tour professional Fred Funk, and Hall of Fame LPGA Tour professional Amy Alcott. This will be Cresa’s fourth year sponsoring the trio.
Cresa Orange County Principal Jeff Manley started the firm’s annual golf sponsorship in 2012 when Taylor Wood, Cresa Orange County Vice President and former golf professional, recommended Steele as “a perfect candidate to wear the Cresa logo.” Steele joined the PGA Tour in 2011 and secured his first career victory at the Valero Texas Open in April of that same year. He received a Business Administration degree from the University of California – Riverside, where he also won five tournaments and was an Academic All-America selection.
In 2013, the firm added Alcott to its sponsorship roster. The LGPA Hall of Fame and World Golf Hall of Fame veteran has won 32 professional tournaments, including 29 LPGA victories. Recently, she partnered with renowned architect Gil Hanse for the design of the golf course for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In 2014, Cresa Chicago Managing Principal Bradley Metzger initiated a sponsorship of Funk, who became the fifth oldest player to win the PGA Tour with his victory at the 2007 Mayakoba Classic. The now 59-year-old professional has won nine PGA Tour events, including three Champions Tour events. Most recently, Funk won two Champions Tour events, the 2012 Insperity Championship and the 2012 Greater Hickory Classic.
“These relationships have been a great fit for us at Cresa,” said
Metzger. “Golf is a big part of our culture and the culture of many of our clients, and this is a unique way to market our firm. In addition, integrity in the game of golf is paramount, as it is to us at Cresa since we provide non-biased services only to tenants, thus avoiding conflicts of interest.”
In addition to wearing the Cresa logo, the professionals host golf clinics for Cresa’s clients and participate in the company’s annual golf event.
“We’re proud to have Steele, Funk, and Alcott as ambassadors for our brand,” said Manley. “They really get it in terms of networking and brand awareness. We are happy they chose to renew with us and hope to continue this venture for years to come.”
The trio is expected to make numerous appearances this year as part of the sponsorship.
