BOSTON– Corderman & Company collaborated with Dyer Brown and NV5 Global in the completion of Rice, Heard, & Bigelow’s new downtown Boston office space.

Founded in Boston in 1782, Rice, Heard, & Bigelow is a privately owned firm of individual
trustees that has transcended generations while remaining firmly rooted in the Financial District.

The firm offers an array of fiduciary services to clients, including trust management, traditional & ESG investing, estate planning, and tax services. Rice, Heard, & Bigelow enlisted Corderman & Company to provide construction management services for their office relocation from 50 Congress Street to One Federal Street.

The project featured custom millwork, sustainable flooring, and glass office fronts, creating a professional and refined atmosphere.

The Corderman team worked closely with Boston architectural firm Dyer Brown to successfully build out a space both cohesive with Rice, Heard, & Bigelow’s traditional branding yet also novel and modern.

“Rice, Heard, & Bigelow requested a clean and crisp fit out that optimized their space,” said Schuyler Pratt, Project Manager for Dyer Brown. “We selected a neutral palette with a few pops of calming blue to coordinate with their furniture. The finishes selected are light and bright while still making the space feel warm. We opted for sustainable flooring options from Interface Carpet & Wineo Purline to be installed throughout the entire office.”

Sarah M. Allen, Shareholder & Director at Rice, Heard, & Bigelow, expressed her
satisfaction with the construction process and the completed project. She noted that
“Corderman & Company did an exceptional job constructing Rice, Heard & Bigelow’s new
home at One Federal Street. The Corderman team was precise, efficient, and organized. They led the communication during our weekly meetings and ensured that our space was not only exactly what we intended, but also that it was finished on time. Corderman helped to make this process smooth and enjoyable. We are extremely pleased with the quality of work and give the company our highest recommendation.”

The success of this beautiful 6,000SF space can be attributed to the dedication and skill
of every project team member involved. Corderman worked with Rice, Heard, & Bigelow, Dyer Brown, NV5 Global, Tishman Speyer, and the many trade partners engaged for this project.
