Holliston, MA – Colantonio Inc. announced that Director of BIM and MEP Services Robert Healey and Assistant Project Manager Jonathan Bracci have achieved certification as Passive House Builders by the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS).
Certified Passive House Builders are prepared to address challenges unique to passive building and specific to our region’s particular climate variations, market conditions, and building components.
The Passive House Standard “stands for quality, comfort and energy efficiency,” according to the PHIUS website. Passive building principles, which can be applied to all building types from single-family homes to skyscrapers, focus on superinsulation, airtight envelopes, high-performance window installation, site management and component sourcing. They offer the best path to Net Zero and Net Positive buildings by minimizing the load that renewables are required to provide.
