BEVERLY, MA — Construction Management and Builders Inc. (CM&B) has appointed Tim Puopolo as President, ushering in a new era of leadership for the family-owned construction firm and continuing the legacy established by its founder more than three decades ago.
The March 27 announcement marks a significant milestone for the company, founded in 1992 by Kevin G. Puopolo, as it transitions to second-generation leadership while maintaining its long-standing values and culture.
Tim Puopolo’s promotion reflects what company leaders describe as a natural evolution rooted in CM&B’s “People.Building.” philosophy, which emphasizes investing in employees as the foundation for success. Over the years, he has built a reputation within the organization for his hands-on leadership style, strong work ethic, and commitment to both clients and colleagues.
“Tim exemplifies everything CM&B stands for,” said Kevin Puopolo, who will remain Founder and CEO while stepping back from day-to-day operations. He noted that the company’s success has always been tied to developing people and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
In his new role, Tim Puopolo will lead the company’s continued focus on operational excellence, client service, and long-term partnerships across its markets. He emphasized that his leadership will center on strengthening teams, investing in talent, and maintaining the high standards that clients expect.
“Stepping into the role of President is an incredible honor,” he said. “CM&B was built on the belief that our people are our greatest strength and that how we work matters just as much as what we build.”
Tim joined CM&B in 2010 as an Assistant Project Manager after beginning his career in a personnel role with a National Football League team. Since then, he has advanced through a range of leadership positions, gaining experience across key areas including field operations, estimating, project management, and sales.
A formative chapter of his career included four years in Northern California, where he supported a major client and further developed his construction management expertise under senior mentorship. He has since led complex, multi-site projects nationwide, particularly within the grocery and automotive sectors, helping to strengthen the firm’s client relationships and expand its footprint.
As part of the leadership transition, Kevin Puopolo will join CM&B’s Legacy Advisory Board in a more limited capacity, focusing on long-term strategy and governance. He will be joined by Sean Fahy, who previously served as President and will also contribute to guiding the company’s future direction.
The leadership shift positions CM&B for its next phase of growth while reinforcing the values and culture that have defined the company since its founding.
