BOSTON–CBT has appointed Maren Reepmeyer, AIA LEED AP, as Director of the recently rebranded practice sector, Adaptive Design (formerly Asset Strategy & Repositioning).
Maren’s leadership marks a new, exciting chapter for the firm as CBT looks to revitalize and optimize – on a big-picture scale – properties impacted by changing demographic and market demands.
A respected mentor and industry leader, Maren serves as CBT’s project lead for Commonwealth Pier, a large-scale adaptive reuse project with significant public realm, historic preservation and sustainability components, that will soon be starting construction after more than three years of design planning.
Her portfolio of work spans mixed-use, commercial, academic, civic and healthcare, with a recent focus on adaptive reuse and strategic revitalization. Maren’s design approach is driven by creative passion, agility and a deep-seeded knowledge of how to transform properties into community-enriching, resilient ecosystems.
Under Maren’s leadership, the Adaptive Design practice will focus on the comprehensive repositioning of whole properties, making strategic design recommendations about how to improve or reorient a building’s typology for long-term relevance. Understanding that the current state of the world (including the pandemic and other recent events) is directly affecting how people live, work and play, Maren and her team are focused on the future, looking five to 10 years down the road to ensure that their clients’ properties offer flexibility, mixed-use programming and high-quality performance so their inhabitants can thrive.
