WALTHAM, MA— Alexandria Real Estate Equities, an urban office REIT, owner, operator and developer of life science and technology campuses, has acquired a 515,000-square-foot office and lab complex in strategic Waltham, MA, for $330 million, according to reports by Banker & Tradesman, Boston Business Journal and other media.
The property was sold by a joint venture of Boston-based Marcus Partners and The Davis Cos. Newmark Knight Frank represented sellers and procured the buyer of the property, which includes the potential for additional 440,000-square-foot life sciences development. Alexandria owns 7.6 million square feet of Boston-area commercial properties
The Waltham property is located in Reservoir Woods East, part of the approximately 1.3 million-square-foot campus that comprises office, research and development, retail, health and wellness offerings.
Reservoir Woods East is less than a mile from I-95, Route 128 and Route 2, and less than 5 miles from I-90. It offers a shuttle service to the MBTA Red Line at Alewife Station in Cambridge.
