Wellesley, MA— The Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) will host its fifth annual Building Advancement Externship (BAE) from August 4 to August 8, offering high school and vocational educators a week-long, hands-on immersion into the state’s thriving construction industry.
Designed to highlight the wide range of STEM-based career paths in construction, the program connects teachers, guidance counselors, and school administrators with industry professionals, job sites, and academic partners. The goal: to better inform educators about viable and rewarding opportunities for students in today’s modern construction economy.
“Participants in AGC MA’s annual Building Advancement Externship become well-informed and passionate advocates for the construction industry,” said John Ferrante, CEO of AGC MA. “The enthusiasm from our member firms has been key to its success and reflects the industry’s commitment to building the next-generation workforce.”
This year’s cohort includes 15 educators from across Massachusetts, representing both regional technical schools and public high schools.
The program is supported by industry leaders including BOND, Turner Construction, Colantonio Inc., Consigli Construction, and others, alongside key education partners such as Wentworth Institute of Technology, YouthBuild Boston, and the Christa McAuliffe Center.
AGC MA continues to lead the charge in connecting education with real-world construction careers across the Commonwealth.
