Auburndale, MA–The affordable housing lottery for applicants to apply for residence at 2Life Communities‘ Golda Meir House in Auburndale, MA is now open.
2Life, a senior housing community operating on the belief that all seniors should be able to live a life of connection and purpose in a dynamic and supportive environment, will be expanding its Golda Meir House at 160 Stanton Ave to welcome even more residents. The nonprofit is seeking prospective residents of all backgrounds for its upcoming housing lottery, taking place in October.
Registration for the lottery began on August 1, and those who wish to be considered for the lottery must apply by September 30.
The expansion includes 68 new apartments in addition to the existing 199 apartments at the Golda Meir House and will meet a wide array of incomes and special accommodations. The nonprofit provides housing opportunities for older adults (62+) of all backgrounds, celebrating diversity and welcoming all in a housing model that allows for residents to age in community. Nine apartments will be reserved for chronically unhoused individuals, alongside one apartment for a graduate student. The project is expected to be completed in winter of 2023.
The expansion is in line with the nonprofit’s mission to accommodate as many residents as possible, especially as many struggle to find truly affordable senior housing. 2Life aims to fill the “middle-market abyss” and rise to meet an increased demand for senior housing options as Baby Boomers enter the market with new and unique needs.
Those interested can learn more at 2lifecommunities.org/Golda-Expansion, or attend one of two upcoming information sessions on Monday, August 29 at the Newton Senior Center or Thursday, September 22 at the Golda Meir House.
