BOSTON- Architectural Engineers, Inc. (AEI) announced that Robin Greenleaf, PE, LEED AP, FACEC has been elected to the position of chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.
ACEC is a professional trade association comprised of a federation of 52 member organizations including more than 5,500 engineering firms representing 600,000 engineers, architects, land surveyors, and affiliated specialists. It is considered the voice of the engineering industry.
As chair, Robin will be responsible for providing leadership that supports the underlying mission of the organization, implementing the national strategic plan, and liaising with member organizations over the course of her term. “ACEC is focused on providing enhanced value to its’ members as we navigate our way through the pandemic and I intend to play a leadership role in these ongoing efforts while preparing the organization for what is next. Our strategic plan will inform our actions and provide for a strong future for our member firms,” said Greenleaf.
Robin has served in numerous National and local Massachusetts ACEC leadership roles. She served as president of ACEC/MA in 2007-8, and national vice chair from 2009-11. In 2015 she was presented with the ACEC Chair Emeritus Award for her unyielding support and advancement of ACEC.
Robin served as president of AEI from 1985 to 2019 and then transitioned to the role of chief executive officer, transferring the role of president to Susan Wisler. She currently has oversight of business development, financial management, risk management, contract management, client management, and strategic planning activities for the firm. She obtained her master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University and is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. In her spare time, Robin enjoys traveling on behalf of US Figure Skating as a judge and referee, and traveling with her husband and fellow ACEC enthusiast, Joel Goodmonson.
