Bedford, MA– Access Vascular, a medical device start-up, has moved its headquarters and lab to a new, larger facility in Bedford, MA.
Founder and President of Access Vascular James Biggins was joined by Angus McQuilken, Vice President for Communications & Marketing for the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC), Tom Sommer, President of MassMedic, as well as Access Vascular Board members, employees and friends, at a ribbon cutting ceremony and lab tour to celebrate this important company milestone.
Access Vascular is developing superior bulk hydrophilic material-based technology designed specifically to eliminate the source of complications seen with current catheters that compromise care and increase costs. The new 7100-square-foot headquarters provide ample room for growth and includes three state-of-the art lab facilities which have been used for testing to date, and will be scaled up for manufacturing when the company commercializes its first product, the HydroPICC. The company’s HydroPICC, made of a superior load-bearing biomaterial, is stronger, more lubricious and more anti-thrombogenic than current technology and addresses the key technology deficiencies of current catheters, with the potential to eliminate thrombotic risk and transform care.
