BOSTON–Van Cleef & Arpels announced the opening of its first boutique in Boston. Located on Newbury Street, the boutique is in the center of the city’s vibrant shopping district and occupies more than 2,300 square feet.

The Art Deco-inspired façade leads into a modern interior designed in gold, onyx and dove grey tones. Among the decor’s special features is a hand-crafted glass chandelier custom-made in France, as well as intricately decorated walls paneled in gold-leaf and Japanese silk.

This will be the first Van Cleef & Arpels boutique in the US to house a Salon 1906, which elegantly showcases a curated selection of heritage and iconic pieces dating from the 1900s, including the Collaret necklace and Ludo Bricks bracelet. Named in honor of the founding year of Van Cleef & Arpels, the Salon 1906 invites clients to discover the history of the Maison through these jewelry masterpieces and technical innovations from the 20th century.

“We are proud to be bringing Van Cleef & Arpels’ rich patrimony and savoir-faire to the historical city of Boston,” says Helen King, President & CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, Americas. “A warm elegance and unique experience awaits guests in the boutique, which will feature the first 1906 Salon in the US, a salon that pays an immersive homage to the Maison’s heritage and legacy of creations. We look forward to opening the doors of Van Cleef & Arpels’ enchanting universe to Boston and its sophisticated residents.”

Enchanting creations

The boutique will showcase new creations, including the latest pieces from the timeless Snowflake collection. Inspired by the Maison’s “flocon” motif introduced in the 1940s, these breathtaking High Jewelry pieces combine the luminosity of platinum with the sparkle of diamonds. Available in the United States are the ethereal Snowflake necklace inspired by Claudine collars, whose pendant can also be worn on a chain, and the Snowflake bow clip, inspired by the lightness and openwork of the Maison’s 1930s couture creations.

Also displayed in the boutique will be the emblematic Alhambra, Perlée and Cadenas collections. Created in 1968, the Alhambra collection has remained the beloved Van Cleef & Arpels icon of luck and has been reimagined in new combinations of materials throughout the years.

Inspired by the tradition of gleaming golden beads, the new Perlée bracelets feature both diamonds and dazzling hard stones in a joyful aesthetics that can be playfully combined with other Perlée creations.

Cadenas timepieces were created in 1935, probably inspired by the Duchess of Windsor, and have achieved iconic status with its distinctive, feminine design. Thanks to an inclined dial visible only to its wearer, it is truly a jewel that tells the time.

Founded at Paris’ 22 Place Vendôme in 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels came into being following Estelle Arpels’ marriage to Alfred Van Cleef in 1895. Over the decades, the excellence and creativity of the High Jewelry Maison established its reputation across the world. With a blend of inventiveness and poetry, Van Cleef & Arpels perpetuates a highly distinctive style that has produced numerous signatures: the Mystery Set technique, the Minaudière, the transformable Zip necklace and the Alhambra motif. Its selection of Pierres de Caractère, exceptional gems that instill an emotion, and the savoir-faire of its Mains d’Or, the virtuoso craftsmen of the workshops, have given birth to enchanting jewelry and watchmaking collections. Whether inspired by nature, couture, dance or imaginary worlds, the Maison opens the gate to a timeless universe of beauty and harmony. Van Cleef & Arpels has established over 130 boutiques across the globe, which are perfect embodiments of its elegant and enchanting style.
