BOSTON   The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s, the new hilltop residential community at 161- 185 Washington Street in Brighton, MA, announced the opening of Overlook North, the third residential building on the property to open its doors to residents.

The property, a redevelopment of a historic church and monastery, offers tenants the opportunity to live in one of the most unique residential communities in the greater Boston area, complete with resort-style amenities, elegantly appointed homes, and a vibrant community.

Overlook North is perched on the northern edge of the hilltop property and features stunning city views that stretch from downtown Boston to Cambridge. The building, which includes 161 units, is also home to a suite of luxurious amenities, including a sun deck with an infinity pool, a sky lounge with sweeping views of Boston, a pet spa, complimentary high-speed internet access, and more.

Developed by Boston-based Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes, in partnership with Blue Vista Capital Management (capital partner), and PeakMade Real Estate (leasing and management), the developers of The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s worked in concert with architect BH+A to restore St. Gabriel’s Monastery and Church, and architect CUBE3 to create three new residential buildings. With over 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities, along with seven acres of green space, the property is a sprawling urban oasis within the heart of Brighton.

“The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s is already home to hundreds of residents, and we are thrilled by the positive response our community has already had to their once-in-a-lifetime homes,” said John Sullivan, Executive Vice President at Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes. “We are extremely excited to open the next phase of the project and look forward to welcoming more residents home to enjoy the indoor/outdoor lifestyle at the property just as the warmer months begin.”

Along with Overlook North, Overlook Landmark, a boutique residential building, and Overlook East are available for tours and immediate move-ins. The development team has invested significantly in each of the buildings, restoring elements of original grandeur while creating contemporary residences with timeless accents and unique floor plans.

The restored St. Gabriel’s church, now called Maker Hall, features a fitness center, café, gathering spaces for coworking and socializing, private conference rooms, areas for games, and community space. Features from the original church, such as vaulted ceilings, terrazzo flooring, artisanal flourishes, and stained glass, are all incorporated into the design.

The property recently announced that its Phase I unit offerings are officially over 60% leased. Additionally, construction is well underway on Overlook West, the final rental building, which is slated to open this summer.

The property’s transit-oriented location is steps from Brighton Center and Washington Square in Brookline, as well as accessible from downtown Boston and Cambridge via the MTBA Green Line and multiple bus routes. Close to the Mass Pike (I-90) and Storrow Drive, there is ample parking, bike storage and an onsite Hubway station. The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s will also operate a complimentary resident shuttle, servicing routes to Brighton Center, Boston Landing Commuter Rail Station, and Harvard Square.
