South Shore Chamber of Commerce Endorses Hingham’s Broadstone Bare Cove as Part of South Shore 2030 Housing Strategy

HINGHAM, MA–Hingham’s Broadstone Bare Cove – with its potential for attracting younger residents – has recently been recognized as contributing to the region’s economic competitiveness, and has been endorsed by the South Shore Economic Development Corporation’s Housing Committee, an arm of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.

The committee recognizes local initiatives that make the region more competitive and assist in attracting people and businesses, as part of its larger South Shore 2030: Choosing Our Future regional economic and community development plan.

Broadstone Bare Cove is offering 220 new homes located along Hingham’s coastline. Just steps from the Ferry Service at Hingham Shipyard, the area will attract a younger talent pool being priced out of the Boston housing market. Laying on a 9.8-acre lot, the Cove will feature a mix of indoor and outdoor amenities including spacious patios, a sky lounge with views of the Back River, 10’ high ceilings, courtyards with alluring views overlooking nearby landscape, as well as direct access to an extensive network of waterfront parks and trails. The short walk to the ferry service allows the development to capitalize on the area’s superb transit. The access to town center and Hingham’s Shipyard should help strengthen the local economy by adding additional tax revenue and a larger customer base for existing and incoming businesses. The Housing Initiative is a major component of South Shore 2030: Choosing Our Future, a multi-year comprehensive economic and community development effort led by the South Shore Chamber and the South Shore Economic Development Corp.  The plan focuses on addressing infrastructure, workforce, housing, leadership, and strengthening communities.  The housing initiative calls for more production of housing that will appeal to younger people and help retain older residents looking to downsize.
