Boston– Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen LLP announce the addition of Jack Anetakis as a partner in both the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate Departments and Renewable Energy Practice Group.

Anetakis joins with particular expertise representing financial institutions and other lenders in commercial and industrial, asset-based, commercial real estate, affordable housing, and renewable energy loan and credit transactions.

His experience includes drafting and negotiation of loan and credit documents, interest rate swap documentation, participation agreements, and intercreditor and subordination agreements. Anetakis is skilled in assisting clients in structuring finance transactions and reviewing, analyzing, and advising clients regarding due diligence.

Before joining Sherin and Lodgen, Anetakis owned his own boutique law firm, Anetakis Law LLC, where, in addition to his commercial financing practice, he represented financial institutions in loan recovery, work out, and debt restructuring, including drafting and negotiation of forbearance agreements, conducting real estate foreclosures, and preparation of debt assignment and assumption agreements. He has also worked with owners and developers in all matters pertaining to commercial real estate, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, permitting, development, construction, and financing. Prior to that, Jack served as in-house counsel for a real estate developer that specialized in multi-family and student housing, and mixed-use developments.

In addition to his background in both real estate and corporate finance, Anetakis brings his extensive renewable energy expertise to Sherin and Lodgen. He carries over his experience representing lenders and developers in connection with renewable energy projects, including review and/or negotiation of site leases, power purchase arrangements, PILOT agreements, and forbearance agreements with tax credit investors. Anetakis received his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law and his Master of Laws from Boston University School of Law. He completed his undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University.

Sherin and Lodgen’s Managing Partner Douglas M. Henry said, “Jack’s knowledge of Boston’s renewable energy and commercial real estate markets, and experience in acquisition, development, and corporate financing will be a tremendous asset to the firm. We are pleased to welcome him as a partner.”
