Samuels & Associates Adds Chris Miers as EVP of Capital and Investment Strategy

BOSTON–Samuels & Associates announced the addition of Chris Miers, JD, CRE, FRICS as Executive Vice President of Capital and Investment Strategy. Chris will be a part of the Executive Management Team and be a key driver in creating and implementing the companys business and capital plans.

A seasoned senior-level real estate investment professional with experience leading change-management initiatives, Chris will hold primary responsibility for long-term financial strategy development and planning, strategic capital raising, and financing activities at Samuels & Associates.

As EVP of Capital and Investment Strategy, Chris will collaborate across the entire organization to help formulate the strategy for the business and each of our investments and to ensure their successful implementation, driving financial performance.

Chris stellar reputation and strength in strategically capitalizing real estate make him a great fit for the S&A team. Before joining S&A, Chris served as a Principal at NEPC, LLC, a privately held full-service investment consulting firm, where he negotiated and structured investment products for a wide range of institutional investors. For 10 years prior, Chris provided strategic investment counsel to some of the world’s largest institutional investors as a Principal at Bard Consulting LLC in San Francisco. Earlier, Chris worked at Babcock & Brown, a global investment and advisory firm, where he identified and invested in target markets, performed due diligence, originated new and restructured existing investments, and managed investment partner relationships. Chris was also in the investment management group at the Shorenstein Company, where he performed fund management services. Prior to that, he was at AMB Property Corporation (now Prologis) working in various roles, including asset and portfolio management, acquisitions, and fundraising.

A South Shore resident, Chris holds a JD from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science from Babson College. Chris is a Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) Conference Committee and serves as Co-Chair of the PREA Capital Markets Affinity Group. He also is on the Board of Directors of the Counselors of Real Estate. Chris is proficient in German and enjoys skiing, fishing, boating, collecting contemporary art, and traveling.
