CAMBRIDGE, MA–Architecture, planning, and interior design firm PCA announced the promotion of Nidhi John to Principal.
Since joining PCA in 2006, Nidhi has continuously expanded her leadership responsibilities as an architect, trusted advisor, and project manager for housing and higher education clients. Within the company, she inspires colleagues with her enthusiastic work on PCA’s charitable Foundation, firmwide mentoring, and PCA’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives. Darcy Jameson, Vice President of Beacon Communities Development and longtime PCA client, describes Nidhi’s collaborative style: “Nidhi is amazing! Working with an architect who understands our mission and the complexities of affordable housing design and finance is invaluable. Nidhi welcomes collaboration and feedback and is innately a problem-solver. I am happy to celebrate this professional milestone with her and PCA!”
As an architect and planner, Nidhi responds with enthusiasm and ingenuity to the challenges involved in meeting the needs of diverse communities and in developing affordable housing. “Because the Boston metropolitan region is one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country, providing affordable options locally is a huge challenge,” Nidhi said. “PCA took this on as a firmwide responsibility, applying our experiences to find ways to make it work. We partner with several nonprofit clients, including The Community Builders and the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, to creatively find and advance affordable housing opportunities.”
Born and raised in Mumbai, Nidhi came to the United States to study architecture and urban design at Kent State University, where she earned her B.A. and M. Arch degrees. She is a licensed architect, a LEED-accredited professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects. (IANS)
