BOSTON – Millennium Partners Boston, the local arm of internationally recognized developer Millennium Partners, announced that Taidgh McClory, the company’s director of social impact and inclusion, has been awarded the NAIOP Massachusetts 2020 President’s Award for his pioneering efforts in implementing diversity and inclusion strategies within the commercial real estate (CRE) industry.

The annual award recognizes exceptional leadership, strategic direction and progressive vision in advancing NAIOP’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. With McClory’s support, NAIOP has been able to strengthen industry DEI efforts by implementing programming that expands opportunities for minority- and women-owned CRE businesses.

Formerly the managing director and partner at CBRE New England, McClory actively promotes diversity and inclusion through civic engagement and his business, T.H. McClory, LLC, a social impact enterprise founded in 2019 and dedicated to creating and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies for the CRE industry.

As the director of social impact and inclusion for Millennium Partners Boston, McClory has implemented the Economic Inclusion & Opportunity initiative for the developer’s forthcoming 691-foot, mixed-use tower, Winthrop Center, developing strategies that support workforce development and supplier diversity and that broaden access to network relationships among people of color and women in the commercial real estate industry. Millennium Partners Boston’s vision is to facilitate meaningful change in the real estate development industry by building a diverse cohort of construction workers, professionals, capital partners and investors.

Acknowledging the disparity in economic opportunities available to under-represented populations in Boston and across the commercial real estate industry, Millennium Partners Boston authored a Memorandum of Understanding in 2017 with The City of Boston to promote economic inclusion throughout the entire lifecycle of the development.

“We are tremendously proud to see Taidgh’s impressive efforts in diversity and inclusion recognized with this award,” said Richard Baumert, principal, Millennium Partners Boston.  “Taidgh has been an invaluable resource to our team as we work to foster a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable real estate and construction industry. With his guidance and expertise, we hope that Winthrop Center will be a model that other owners and developers can adopt to make economic inclusion sustainable in Boston and beyond.”

Millennium Partners Boston is reframing the human urban experience in unprecedented ways and has always envisioned Winthrop Center’s impact extending beyond the lives of its residents and office tenants, touching the larger Boston and even global communities and becoming a beacon for a new way of building. Designed pre-pandemic, Winthrop Center’s health and wellness performance attributes will set new advanced standards as the healthiest and most energy efficient workplace in Boston. Winthrop Center is creating new ways to ensure diversity and inclusion in the construction and real estate fields by committing to new goals for employing people of color, women, and local residents on the construction site as well as contracting with women- and minority-owned businesses for construction, design and consulting roles and building operations.

Founded in 1991, Millennium Partners is an internationally recognized residential developer of luxury mixed-use properties, responsible for dramatic showcase properties in some of the nation’s most dynamic urban locations. Millennium Partners has created a portfolio of 28 properties that bring together luxury condominiums, state-of-the-art entertainment complexes, world-class spa and fitness facilities, Class-A office space, and five-star hotel brands, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Winthrop Center marks another transformational project for Millennium Partners. On the heels of the record-setting development of the nearby Millennium Tower, Burnham Building, and Millennium Place, the construction of Winthrop Center is fueled by Millennium Partners Boston’s commitment to Boston and vision for the $1.30 billion-dollar development that will shape the future of healthy office space and eco-conscious design.
