Margulies Perruzzi Expands Design Staff

BOSTON- Margulies Perruzzi (MP), a New England architectural and interior design firm, announced today the addition of four new employees to its design staff to support the firm’s growth in its workplace, health, science, and real estate practice areas. MP is pleased to welcome J.J. Chen, Rania Gaafer, Assoc. AIA, Megan Hogan, NCIDQ, LEED GA, and Monica Maganzini, Assoc. AIA.

“As companies begin to bring employees back to the office, they are re-evaluating the nature of their workspaces. We have been working closely with our clients throughout the pandemic to assist them as they adjust their workspace to meet the evolving needs of both their employees and their business,” said Dan Perruzzi AIA, LEED AP, principal and senior partner at Margulies Perruzzi. “We are proud to welcome our new staff and know they will provide our clients with exceptional service.”

J.J. Chen, Architectural Designer

Chen is a versatile architect with experience designing commercial, healthcare, and mixed-use projects. As a job captain, he will be responsible for developing plans and architectural details, construction documents, Revit and 3D models, and renderings. Chen earned a Bachelor of Art and Science from the Washington University School of Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the Columbia University School of Architecture and Planning.

Rania Gaafer, Assoc. AIA, Architectural Designer

Gaafer has experience with various phases of architectural and interior projects, specializing in commercial and healthcare. In her role as architectural designer, she will participate in all aspects of the interior design process including programming, interior space planning, schematics, research, selection, and specification of materials. In addition, she will complete value engineering drawings and coordinate engineering work with the MP design team. Gaafer received a Bachelor of Architecture and Urban Design from Tripoli University and a Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College (BAC).

Megan Hogan, NCIDQ, LEED GA, Interior Designer

With 10 years of experience, Hogan specializes in corporate interiors and workplace strategy, and is passionate about developing creative strategies to deliver a fully integrated design for her clients. In her new role, Hogan will provide design, technical detailing, and space planning services from concept development through construction documentation for MP’s clients. Hogan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Fine Arts and Interior Design from the George Washington University.

Monica Maganzini, Assoc. AIA, Architectural Designer

Maganzini is a detail-oriented architectural designer with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, delegate resources, and maintain budgets and schedules. She will assist project managers with all project phases from schematic design through construction administration. Maganzini has experience in designing in accordance with building codes and accessibility requirements. She enjoys designing for human comfort and functionality over form and believes in logical progression within buildings. Maganzini holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master in Architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology along with an Interior Design Certificate from the Mass Bay Community College.
