WILMINGTON, MA – Erland Construction has been selected by Heilind Electronics to expand its headquarters in Wilmington, MA. Teaming up with ahp Architects, Erland will add 60,000 square feet to their existing 40,000 square feet of office and warehouse space.

Heilind Electronics, founded in 1974, is one of the world’s leading distributors of connectors, relays, switches, thermal management and circuit protection products, terminal blocks, wire and cable, wiring accessories, and insulation and identification products. Heilind is the industry’s top interconnect distributor, with the largest inventory of connector products in North America.

The company has rapidly increased in size over the years by internal expansion and strategic acquisitions, outgrowing their current space. The new two-story addition to their existing office building will create a new environment that better serves their evolving workforce in Massachusetts.

The exterior will feature a brick façade with a glass curtain wall entrance to upgrade the building’s curb appeal. The new space will include an open office design with multiple conference rooms, restrooms, and kitchenettes.  Additional site work will be completed to increase parking as well.

Erland will seek to minimize the disruption to Heilind’s operations as well as neighboring homes and businesses during this 12-month project. Additionally, due to the adjacency of the addition and existing structure, Erland will work closely with Heilind, project engineers and designers to coordinate the construction of the new structure and modifications to the existing structure.
