NASHUA, NH–If you’ve ever wondered how stone walls became ubiquitous in New England, let Kevin Gardner fill you in on Tuesday, August 14, at 7 p.m. at the Nashua Public Library.

Gardner—builder, logger, writer, teacher, radio voice, actor, and author of “The Granite Kiss”—will present “Discovering New England Stone Walls.”

Kevin Gardner

He’ll explain how and why New England came to acquire its thousands of miles of stone walls, how they were built, how their styles evolved over time, and their significance to the New England landscape. Along the way, he’ll occupy himself building a miniature wall on a tabletop, using tiny stones from a five-gallon bucket.

The talk is sponsored by New Hampshire Humanities. It is part of the library’s Adult Summer Reading program, whose theme this year is “Libraries Rock!”

The library is located at 2 Court Street, Nashua. For directions and parking information go to nashualibrary.org/visit/directions. For other information contact Carol at [email protected] or (603) 589-4610.
