WATERTOWN – Boylston Properties and The Wilder Companies announced that Condesa Restaurante Mexicano will join Shake Shack, Pokeworks and City Works Eatery and Pour House at Arsenal Yards.

With two locations in Rhode Island, brothers Roberto and Ernesto Leon will open their third Condesa Restaurante Mexicano in 2019 at Arsenal Yards.

By 2020 Arsenal Yards will be a thriving new neighborhood comprised of over more than one million square feet of development including 250,000 sq. ft. of curated shops, eclectic eateries, fresh groceries from Roche Bros., and a seven screen cinema, The Majestic at Arsenal Yards, plus 200,000 sq. ft. of new and existing creative office and life science space, 425 contemporary residences, and a 146-room Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton. The development will also include dedicated green space, access to a revitalized Arsenal Park, connection to the Watertown-Cambridge multi-use pathway and an accessible pedestrian/bicycle path to the Charles River.

“The Leon brothers’ energy and authentic flair contribute to the warm hospitality and diverse flavors that are what the Arsenal Yards experience is all about,” said Bill McQuillan, Principal, Boylston Properties. “We’re thrilled that they’ve chosen to expand to Massachusetts and open their first restaurant in the state at Arsenal Yards.”

Condesa Restaurante Mexicano will bring Watertown a fresh taste of Mexico with authentic Yucatan dishes, recipes from Southern Mexico and tequila from Jalisco. A true family affair, the menu offers recipes from the Leon brothers’ mother, father and aunt, and are hand-crafted in a scratch kitchen with only the freshest ingredients. While traditional dishes are offered, the restaurant is named Condesa after a region of Mexico known for its modern culture, which allows for a delicious fusion of traditional flavors with a modern twist.

“Condesa Restaurante Mexicano’s unique flavors, vibrant décor and upbeat, lively atmosphere mirror the experience that we’re curating at Arsenal Yards with eclectic eateries, shops and more,” said Ryan Feinberg, Director of Retail Leasing, The Wilder Companies. “The Leon brothers’ deep roots and genuine love for Mexico shines through in everything from the dishes they put on the table, to the artwork on the walls and smiles on servers’ faces.”

Authentic art and décor, mariachi bands and Mexican jazz performers, sizzling fajitas, tableside guacamole, hand-crafted beverages, an open floor plan and outdoor seating all contribute to its lively, energetic atmosphere, perfect for a date night, family dinner or celebration with friends.

“We look forward to bringing the fiesta to East End Watertown and sharing the flavors of Mexico with the community,” said Roberto Leon, Co-Owner, Condesa Restaurante Mexicano. “From traditional recipes to exotic dishes including cactus and a variety of unique flavors, our recipes have been passed down through our family and we’re proud to share them with our new amigos at Arsenal Yards.”
