BOSTON – CBRE announced that it has been retained as the exclusive leasing advisor for Nexus Burlington, a 190,000-square-foot life science building located at 43 South Avenue in Burlington, MA, to be developed by The Gutierrez Company.

Nexus Burlington could be delivered to market as early as 2021 and will further position Burlington as a life science hub in the suburbs, which is currently home to major players in the sector such as MilliporeSigma and Sarepta Therapeutics.

Situated at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Route 3, Burlington has accessibility to both the northern Massachusetts and Cambridge talent pools, providing additional opportunities for talent acquisition and retention. Burlington is also designated as a Platinum Rated BioReady Community by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council.

Nexus Burlington connects with vibrant surroundings, like-minded corporate neighbors and unparalleled access. With a best-in-class development, tenants will have optimal flexibility to showcase their brand in a high-profile location, where research and development seamlessly intersect.

Located on 5.8 acres overlooking two major highways, the building enjoys walkable amenities including over 25 restaurants, seven hotels and seven fitness centers. Burlington’s unparalleled and growing amenity base–ncluding the nearby Wegmans-anchored 3rd Ave development and newly constructed restaurants such as Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Del Frisco’s Grille and Yard House—are attracting a life science and corporate headquarters community that look to replicate the walkable amenities that are found in Cambridge, Boston’s Seaport and Central Business District.

Paul Asmar, Head of Real Estate and Property Services for MilliporeSigma, a business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, which recently completed the construction of a 350,000-square-foot Class A life science and office complex in Burlington, with The Gutierrez Company, attributes his company’s relocation to Burlington to the ability to attract and retain the best talent. “The decision to relocate to Burlington was an easy one when we considered not only the accessibility and visibility provided by two major highways in each direction, but also the quality of life for our employees. Burlington offers our employees a great variety of food, hospitality, entertainment and retail options that they enjoy on a daily basis in Burlington.”

The Burlington Life Science hub continues to expand with The Gutierrez Company’s imminent completion of another life science facility in Burlington known as Burlington BioCenter located at 4 Burlington Woods on approximately 4.5 acres, the 109,500-square-foot building includes a state-of-the-art lab-ready shell.
