CambridgeSeven Promotes Four Officials

Architectural firm CambridgeSeven announced the promotion of four team members in recognition of their significant contributions to advancing the firm’s practice through leadership, design, client service, peer mentoring, sustainability and project management.

“These newly appointed team members are being recognized for their ongoing contribution to CambridgeSeven’s mission of practicing high quality design that meets the needs of our clients, improves the lives of the people who experience it, and leaves the environment a much better place than it was before we started,” said Gary Johnson, President of CambridgeSeven. “These promotions ensure a bright future for CambridgeSeven and our clients.”

Justin Crane

Justin Crane, AIA: Associate Principal

Since joining CambridgeSeven, Justin has provided architectural design for many notable academic, civic, and hospitality projects. He is actively involved in the architectural community at the national level, serving on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Ethics Council, and locally, as President of Learning by Design Massachusetts, as past chair of the Boston Society of Architect (BSA) Ethics committee and founding Co-Chair of Common Boston, a volunteer committee of the BSA that celebrates architecture and design in the community. He has served as a guest critic at MIT, Northeastern University, and the Wentworth Institute of Technology and in 2015 he received the AIA Young Architects Award and was named one of BD+C Magazine’s “40 Under 40.”

Robert Bander

Robert Bander, AIA: Senior Associate

Robert has more than twenty years of experience providing architectural design services for several of CambridgeSeven’s complex commercial, academic, and cultural projects in the U.S. and Gulf Region. His tenacious problem-solving and coordination of large-scale projects make him an essential team member on local hospitality and international museum and aquarium projects.

Douglas Flandro

Douglas Flandro, LEED AP, BD+C, ID+C: Associate

Drawing on his background in theater and film design, Douglas is especially interested in sustainable exhibit design, new technologies, immersive experiences, experiential graphic design and hands-on interactive exhibits. Since joining CambridgeSeven, he has designed exhibits and graphics for numerous science museums, children’s museums, nature and visitor centers, aquariums, and zoos. Douglas leads the firm’s Sustainable Working Group and has taught and lectured at Wentworth Institute of Technology and Rhode Island School of Design.

Stephanie Herring

Stephanie Herring, Associate AIA, LEED AP BD+C: Associate

A 3-year veteran of CambridgeSeven, Stephanie is an advocate for emerging architects. Currently, she serves as the Vice Chair of the AIA National Associates Committee and is an active member of the BSA’s Women in Design committee. Stephanie, whose seventh grade geometry class included a model-building assignment that led to her architectural career, counts a children’s museum and local and international hotels among her CambridgeSeven projects.
