Harold Brown dies at 94.

BOSTON—Boston’s multifamily king whose company owned and operated 5,600 residential units and 2.8 million square feet of commercial space across New England, has died. He was 94.

“With great sadness we share the news that Harold Brown died yesterday.  Harold was 94.  Our deepest sympathy to his wife, Maura Nolan Brown and to his children, Harley, Jameson and his wife Kira, Lisa Brown Piper and her husband Michael,” reads a statement on the company website. “Also, we extend our condolences to Harold’s brother Ronald and his wife Ellen Brown and to all members of the Brown family.”

The statement said that until a short time ago, Harold was in the office each day.  He spent time at Commonwealth Sports Club before coming over to our Head Office at 39 Brighton Avenue.  Harold started The Hamilton Company in 1954 and it has grown to the successful and large property management company.

Harold was an active member of the Allston, Brighton, Brookline, Boston community with far reaching and generous contributions to small and large nonprofit organizations.

Services are planned for Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10 am at Kehilath Israel, 384 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA  02446.  Hamilton Company Offices will be closed in Harold’s honor and memory on Wednesday.

Donations in Harold’s name may be made to the Franciscan Children’s, 30 Warren Street, Brighton, MA  02135 or to the West End Boys and Girls Club, 105 Allston, Street, Allston, MA  02134.
