Arlen Li Joins Wilson HGA as Senior Architect and Science Planner

BOSTON — Wilson HGA announced that Arlen Li, AIA, LEED BD+C, has joined the firm as Associate Vice President and Senior Architect and Science Planner in the Boston office.

He brings a wide range and depth of expertise on science building design to augment the firm’s national Science and Technology practice.

Li has more than 35 years of experience directing the planning and design of cutting-edge research facilities and academic teaching buildings for higher education, corporate, public, and medical institutions nationally. He additionally has directed numerous feasibility studies, from short-term implementation plans to large-scale strategic visioning documents.

“I am excited to be joining an experienced and dynamic team with whom I already have some familiarity,” Li said. “This is an opportunity to continually advance design innovations for top clients who are the leaders of interdisciplinary research and discovery.”

Before joining Wilson HGA, he was Director of Lab Planning with Payette Associates in Boston, where he worked with such clients as George Washington University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Yale University, Williams College, Skidmore College, and the University of Washington. He additionally co-founded the firm’s original Sustainable Design Group.

He is active in local and national sustainable design groups, including U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), and the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL).

Li has a Master of Architecture from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Yale University. He is a licensed architect.
