Acentech Welcomes New Staff to Cambridge Headquarters

CAMBRIDGE, MA– Acentech, a multi disciplinary acoustics, audiovisual, IT and security system design, and vibration consulting firm, added four new consulting and professional staff to its Cambridge headquarters. Ryan Edwards has joined Acentech as a consultant in architectural acoustics, and Mariana Botero has joined the firm as a CAD specialist in the systems group. Sandy Kane is Acentech’s new senior marketing coordinator and graphic designer, and Daniel Lewis assumes the role of accounting assistant.

Ryan Edwards: Consultant in Architectural Acoustics

Ryan Edwards consults in Acentech’s Architectural Acoustics group, working with various projects involving performing arts, educational, and commercial facilities. While earning a Master in Music Technology at New York University, he focused on small room active acoustics systems and studied abroad at the Institute for Research and Coordination Acoustic / Music (IRCAM) in Paris, France. Ryan also received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on architectural design from Stanford University. Ryan is an accomplished musician of many genres, having released three hip-hop albums, one drum and bass album, and one collaborative album with a violinist. He is also an avid rock climber and skier.

Mariana Botero: CAD Specialist

As a CAD specialist, Mariana assists Acentech’s Systems group with audiovisual and IT projects, supporting the firm’s architectural, corporate and institutional client base. Mariana brings expertise developing contract documentation through all project phases. Previously, she worked as an engineering associate at an architectural acoustics and noise control firm in Bogotá, Colombia. Mariana is currently enrolled in the Master of Interior Architecture program at the Boston Architectural College. She received a Bachelor of Science in Sound Engineering from the University of San Buenaventura in Bogotá. Mariana enjoys scuba diving and photography.

Sandy Kane ~ Senior Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Designer

Sandy brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and graphic design to her new role at Acentech. As senior marketing coordinator and graphic designer, Sandy prepares qualifications and proposals, and manages the design and production of marketing collateral for awards, conferences, presentations, and PR/media. In her previous role as senior marketing manager and graphic designer at architecture firm Bruner/Cott & Associates, Inc., Sandy designed marketing collateral for print and screen, and managed the marketing department’s workflow. Sandy received a Bachelor of Arts in French from University of Massachusetts, Boston, and studied in the electronic graphic design program at New England School of Art & Design in Boston. Creative both in and out of the workplace, Sandy is an accomplished seamstress and costume designer, and enjoys off-loom bead weaving, mural painting, and knitting in her free time. She is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) and the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

Daniel Lewis ~ Accounting Assistant

Daniel joins Acentech as an accounting assistant, responsible for the firm’s monthly collections, invoicing, and reporting. Daniel received a Master of Music in Music Composition from Boston Conservatory, and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University. A professional percussionist, composer, and teacher, Daniel plays percussion for orchestras, ensembles and musical theater groups around Boston, composes and improvises contemporary experimental music, and teaches drum lessons.
