WALTHAM, MA—Boston Real Estate Times today announced that it will host its 10th Annual Boston Senior Housing and Assisted Living Summit on March 20 at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA. Tom Grape, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark, will be the keynote speaker.

“On our 10th anniversary of the Senior Housing and Assisted Living Summit, we will also honor Mr. Grape with the Boston Real Estate Times’ Distinguished Services Award for being a pioneer and leading the senior housing and assisted living industry,” said Upendra Mishra, publisher of Boston Real Estate Times. “We are looking forward to honoring Mr. Grape and listening to an exciting panel of experts.”

Since 1997, Mr. Grape has led Benchmark to become the largest senior housing company in the Northeast. With 6,300 associates and nearly 60 communities across eight states, Benchmark has assets under management of over $2.5 billion.

Mr. Grape is a founding board member and former chair of Argentum, the national organization of senior living companies, as well as founder and past chairman of its state affiliate, the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association.

In 1993, Mr. Grape was instrumental, along with then Secretary of Health and Human Services and now Governor, Charlie Baker, in writing the legislation for assisted living in Massachusetts. And in 2017, Governor Baker tapped him to serve on the first Governor’s Council to Address Aging in Massachusetts.
