TRIA Welcomes Six New Design Professionals

BOSTON– TRIA, a partner-led architecture firm with a focus on science and technology organizations, has hired six new professional staff to its growing design team and new office in Boston Seaport’s Innovation and Design Building.

Adding a breadth and depth of expertise in designing the places that advance scientific discovery, TRIA welcomes Lucianna Lucarelli as director of interiors and John Hubbard as project manager, a pair that have worked together for a decade. Anna Evangelista also joins TRIA as architect II, and Scott Harrison, Anthony Wolff, and Mike Evers join the firm as architect I.

Founded by Managing Principal Sherwood Butler and Principal Jeannie Pierce Thacker, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, TRIA brings a deep understanding of the unique needs of science-based organizations, as well as decades of experience constructing the spaces that make breakthroughs possible. Leveraging its staff’s experience as both scientists and designers, TRIA holistically integrates lab design and interior design to create spaces that are livable and functional for scientific discovery. TRIA’s new open and collaborative workspace in the Innovation and Design Building places the firm at the nexus of technology and design innovation in the city of Boston.

Reimagined and revitalized by real estate developer Jamestown, the Innovation and Design Building is a 1.4 million SF mixed-use complex in Boston Seaport’s Innovation District that is attracting industries pioneering the innovation economy. Offering a creative loft environment with open and flexible floor plans, high ceilings, and natural light-filled spaces with views of Boston Harbor and the Boston skyline, the Innovation and Design Building is home to a dynamic mix of companies and industries that include architecture and creative service studios, specialized manufacturing facilities, research and development firms, technology start-ups, and the Boston Design Center, New England’s premier resource for design professionals.

TRIA 2016Lucianna Lucarelli ~ Director of Interiors

As TRIA’s director of interiors, Lucianna brings 15 years of experience designing creative and innovative spaces for a variety of corporate clients. She provides thoughtful design and leadership, working closely with the entire team to produce successful projects. Her professional experience allows her to bring the client’s vision and her creative process together to meet the ultimate goal of a stylish yet functional space. Lucianna holds a Bachelor of Science in Art with a concentration in Architecture from Northeastern University.

John Hubbard ~ Project Manager

John brings 10 years of experience in architecture and interior design. As a project manager, he has been involved in the successful completion of renovations to existing corporate office interiors as well as new construction and building renovation projects. John’s project responsibilities range from construction documentation and building envelope detailing to construction administration. His attention to detail, organization skills, and eye for design enable him to deliver projects with exceptional design intent, on time and within budget.

Anna Evangelista ~ Architect II

With a solid foundation in architecture for the life sciences industry, Anna brings a driven work ethic and ability to comprehend new concepts quickly and efficiently. Previously, Anna served for four years as a junior project designer on Novartis’ 843,000 SF project in Cambridge, Mass., a role where she was responsible for leading the laboratory equipment surveying and planning, interfacing with client user groups, and acting as a liaison to the construction team. At TRIA, Anna is focused on assisting team members with schematic design through construction administration to meet every client’s project goals. Anna received a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Scott Harrison ~ Architect I

Scott brings extensive software and architecture knowledge to his role as architect at TRIA. His prior professional experience focused on pre-design, design development, and construction documentation, with a specialty in detail drawings for passive house systems. Scott graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Architecture, where he served as a teaching assistant in materials and assembly as well as an advisor in full-scale plywood architecture construction. In addition to his project work at TRIA, Scott is working on becoming a licensed architect in Massachusetts.

Anthony Wolff ~ Architect I

Anthony brings a hard-working attitude, strong attention to detail, and vast array of knowledge to his role as architect at TRIA. He is a recent Master of Architecture graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he also earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. As a student, Anthony served as an undergraduate section leader, assisting teachers by coaching students in various software programs and critiquing their work. He also completed two local internships, one at a Boston-based architecture firm and one at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in the planning and construction department. AT TRIA, Anthony assists team members with project production, from schematic design through construction administration.

Mike Evers ~ Architect I

Mike is a recent Master of Architecture graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he also received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. As a student, he gained practical experience as a capital projects planning intern at Boston College, where he managed upcoming and ongoing projects for the College’s capital improvement plan. As an architect at TRIA, Mike is focused on assisting the team with all phases of a project, from design development through construction documentation and administration.
