BOSTON– Boston-based Finegold Alexander Architects announced that principal Regan Shields Ives, AIA LEED AP, has been elected President of Boston Preservation Alliance’s Board of Directors.

The Boston Preservation Alliance is a nonprofit organization that protects and improves the quality of Boston’s distinct architectural heritage. Through advocacy and education, it brings people and organizations together to influence the future of Boston’s historic buildings, landscapes, and communities.

“Over the past decade, Regan has distinguished herself as an integral member of the Boston Preservation Alliance’s leadership and governance team,” says Chris Scoville, outgoing Board President and current Vice President. “I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with Regan for most of that time, first as colleagues on the Alliance’s Young Advisors and then as members of the Board of Directors. Regan’s contributions to the Alliance are too numerous to mention, and the organization stands to benefit from her knowledge, network, and her passion for protecting Boston’s historic resources. The staff and Board of the Alliance are honored to have Regan as our new Board President.”

As a registered architect with over 20 years of experience, Regan leads Finegold Alexander’s educational and cultural practice. She is an advocate and thought leader in preserving historic buildings, including adapting them for new, contemporary uses. She is a recipient of the Tsonga’s award, Preservation Massachusetts’ highest honor, honoring people and projects that have displayed the highest level of commitment to historic preservation in the Commonwealth.

“I’m excited to work more closely with Regan in this new role,” said Alison Frazee, BPA Executive Director. “The Alliance is transitioning in a number of exciting ways, and I’m confident in Regan’s leadership to ensure we meet our goals.”
