La Colombe Cafe Opens its Second Cafe in Boston

BOSTON– La Colombe opened its newest café in Boston at One Seaport (29 Northern Ave), in the growing Seaport neighborhood. As part of the celebration, La Colombe offered free Draft Latte cans to all consumers on the first day of the opening.

The 1,197-square-foot café is the second location to come to the Boston market, joining La Colombe South Station, which opened in 2016. The coffee company, known for leading the way in establishing ethical and long-term trade practices with growers, is committed to a vision of changing the world by making people happy with coffee.

“We committed very early into the project and the transformation of Seaport has been amazing,” said JP Iberti, President and Co-Founder of La Colombe. “It was a perfect fit to bring our full experience through design, natural light, art — to our new neighbors. We hope this cafe can be a hub for the neighborhood culture and coffee.”

La Colombe will be offering its traditional and innovative coffee options, including the Draft Latte™, the revolutionary cold coffee beverage that delivers a completely unique, cafe-style drinking experience.

The Draft Latte, which is available in original, vanilla, mocha, triple, coconut milk mocha, coconut milk and chai tea, comes directly from the mind of Todd Carmichael, CEO and Co-Founder La Colombe, who invented the process that brings the froth traditionally found in a hot latte to the refreshingly cold and portable, ready-to-drink Draft Latte can. La Colombe also produces a non-textured, ready-to-drink coffee: Pure Black®, a canned cold-pressed coffee.

La Colombe is partnering with Boston-based Café Madeline to offer a wide range of pastries and savory sandwiches, and Liquiteria for refreshing juice beverages.

La Colombe Seaport will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

La Colombe is a coffee roaster known for long-term trade practices with growers. Considered one of the pioneers of the third wave of coffee, it provides signature classic blends and exceptional single-origin coffees to cafés, hotels, restaurants and retailers around the world. In addition, the company owns and operates 27 cafés in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. – with additional locations and new markets scheduled to open in 2017. The company has also made headlines in the ready-to-drink business with its DRAFT LATTE© – the world’s first-ever textured cold latte.

One Seaport is a marquee destination within the Seaport District. Comprised of two city blocks, situated on three acres of land in the heart of the neighborhood, One Seaport is the largest mixed-use project in the City of Boston in over 30 years. It spans 1.5 million square feet in total and represents the highest concentration of retail space in the Seaport, with 250,000 square feet devoted to shopping, dining, fitness, and entertainment. 832 modern, amenity-rich apartments, dubbed The Benjamin and VIA, sit above the retail experience.

Culture, industry and community converge making Boston’s Seaport district a dynamic and vibrant area that is quickly emerging as one of the most exciting neighborhoods and destinations in the country. Currently, Boston’s single largest development project, WSDevelopment will transform 23 acres of waterfront land with a carefully selected mix of residential, hotel, office, retail, entertainment, civic and cultural uses, and public open space. Combining the best of historic and modern day Boston, Seaport is positioned to become the destination for fashion, culture, arts, dining and entertainment, and technology and life sciences, expanding its position as one of the top cities in the world.
