The book is written by Boyce Thompson. His previous work includes The New New Home, which was named book of the year by the National Association of Real Estate Editors.  The founding editor of Residential Architect magazine, Thompson served for seventeen years as editorial director of Builder magazine, named business publication of the year in 2010. Thompson’s work has appeared in Fine HomebuildingGoverningPractical HomeownerThe Washington Post, and many other publications. He holds a BA in English from Northwestern University and a masters degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
