Affera is actively hiring for a range of positions, and the 5,395 SF facility will accommodate the rapidly growing start-up. “We are excited to see this space fill up with even more talent. The open layout fosters communication among our multi-disciplinary team members, which is crucial to our success in the development of our product,” said Affera CEO Doron Harlev.

“We congratulate Affera on their new, expanded facility in Watertown,” said Travis McCready, President & CEO of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center. “A key to the strength of Massachusetts’ life sciences ecosystem is its subsector diversity, including medical devices. All ten of the world’s largest medtech companies have a physical presence in Massachusetts, along with hundreds of innovative smaller companies that are working to bring new devices to market. Affera is another great example of a locally incubated company that is finding in Massachusetts all of the resources it needs for growth and innovation.”

“Affera’s expansion is contributing to the strong and growing medical technology community here in Massachusetts,” said Tom Sommer, President of MassMEDIC, the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council. “The medical device sector in our state contributes significant job growth for our economy and Affera’s expansion will play an important role in the creation of job opportunities.”

Affera was founded to address an unmet need in cardiac arrhythmia treatment. With a dynamic team of strong engineers and business professionals, and world-renowned clinical partners, the company has attracted talent across the country as it continues to grow. CEO Doron Harlev previously co-founded and served as co-CEO at Rhythmia Medical, which was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2012. Rhythmia became Boston Scientific’s cardiac mapping and navigation division.
